(Pictured Me at Enchanted Forest) I was sad to read that the final Enchanted Forest storybook theme park figures, castle, etc. will be taken down at the Enchanted Forest Shopping Center. That theme park was a big part of my childhood. Before I went to Walt Disney World in my 20’s, Enchanted Forest was the only theme park I knew. Our “Disneyland” here in Maryland opened in 1955, in Ellicott City. It closed in 1989. Read on to find out what will become of those retro pieces of our kiddie heritage. Plus see a few throwback pics from a visit to Enchanted Forest when I was a kid….

Fun at Shoppers Food and Pharmacy for a great cause! During the day Saturday, up to $500 was raised by people stopping by and donating. The cause: Great American Milk Drive for Food Banks in the area. Special thanks to Baltimore Raven John Urschel for coming out in support. Take a look at the photo gallery:
We discovered during our recent visit to Charlottesville VA, lots of wineries. Calling it the “Napa Valley” of the East! My hubby and I went to a few. These were owned by well-known people. Hints: One was real estate tycoon/TV personality. The other winery is owned by the leader singer of rock band. Who are they? Plus see the pictures I took in this blog!
Celebrate Earth Day all week with these fun and local events:
During our recent visit to Charlottesville VA, we took a ride down the historic Blue Ridge Parkway. According to Wikipedia, “The Parkway, while not a “National Park,” has been the most visited unit of the National Park System every year since 1946″. An amazing drive, over 400 miles to North Carolina, where you really get close to nature. You actually travel along a 2 lane road, with no guard rails! It’s you and the mountains. Not for the faint of heart. I created a photo gallery for you. The pics will show you some history, some amazing views and famous landmarks. We drove about 10 miles down the Blue Ridge Parkway and experienced the breath-taking beauty. Take a look at my pics!
This is something I have wanted to do since I was a child. I went to Charlottesville VA for my birthday to celebrate with the President who shares my birthday! Check out the photo gallery here..
