The Creator Of Paddington Bear Has Died Aged 91

Michael Bond, the creator of children’s character Paddington Bear, has died aged 91.

Bond published his first book, A Bear Called Paddington, in 1958.

His daughter, Karen Jankel, told the Guardian that ‘the whole world’ was lucky to have had her father and that his legacy would live on ‘forever’ through his creation.

He died at his home on Tuesday following a short illness, a statement from his publisher, HarperCollins, said.
