Saturday, thousands of people and their furry friends (and even a snake and a giant tortoise) took over Camden Yards Sports Complex for the Maryland SPCA’s 22nd annual March for the Animals to celebrate pets and raise awareness about the challenges that homeless, hungry and hurting pets in our community face every single day.
The March serves as the MD SPCA’s largest fundraiser of the year raising the critical funds needed to provide care and services to almost 15,000 pets that will need us throughout the entire year.
Despite lots of hard work and effort by many, they fell just shy of their overall goal. After hearing this news, several very generous donors, who wish to remain anonymous, teamed up to create a matching donation up to $25,000, dollar-for-dollar, for ANY additional donations that are made before Friday, April 22 at midnight.
