He has been coughing and his trainer Art Sherman decided to have the colt examined after the morning gallop at Pimlico.
After the exam, his blood work came back clean. They did discover a small blister on his throat. Chrome is being treated with a glycerin throat wash.
California Chrome’s camp is worried about the rain. They don’t want him catching a cold. The colt is getting his temperature taken 3 times a day to be safe.
The horse had a similar irritation before the Kentucky Derby.
