I need to learn to quit when I am ahead.
I took a friend’s daughter to Amazing Glaze, the paint-your-own-pottery place, yesterday. What a beautiful day; they had the doors open to let the sunshine in, and add in the great company and cool art pieces, it was great. But then, as I was painting I definitely got carried away with my “little” project that had once started out as a simple plate and soon became a big, big mess. Being creative can be a difficult task to learn the art of, well, simple art. This over-doing symptom happens sometimes when I am getting ready to go out too! I’ll do my hair and makeup and then start adding things and messing with other colors and wind up hating it. I think I see a pattern here. Sometimes, maybe more often than not, simple is better.
What do you think? Do you do this too?
