My husband and I finally did something that was on our bucket list. We went dog sledding in the Poconos! Check out the photo gallery (below) and get the scoop on dog sledding. Here are a few facts…

Skytop, PA has dog sledding for your family. Kim, our guide, was an Iditarod Dog Racing pro. She hopes to run the race again. In the meantime, she has about 16 canine best friends she loves and cares for. These dogs were so sweet and friendly.

Here are some “Dog Sledding facts”:

The dogs burn about 12,000 calories.

They eat beaver and white fish every hour.

16 dogs that pull a sled, equals the length of a tractor-trailer.

They run 10 miles/hour.

A dog sled driver loses approx. 6,000 calories while participating in an Iditarod.

You do not tell the dogs “Mush” to go. Instead it’s “Alright”.
