Do Co-workers Affect Your Mood?

So, this morning when my alarm went off at 4, the last thing I felt like doing was getting up and getting ready for work. Then I reminded myself that it isn’t really “work,” it’s our “show” and it’s FUN! Listeners often say to me, “It sounds like you and Greg have so much fun in the morning!” Well, that’s because we DO have a lot of fun. I have to say that Greg Carpenter is one of the nicest people I have ever worked with.

I’ve had a lot of different jobs in my life and I have noticed that other people’s moods affect me greatly. With Greg, even if he is tired or not feeling well, he always makes my morning brighter no matter what is going on in my life. He can make me laugh so hard that I have to wear waterproof mascara to work — no lie!

I wonder if I would love my job as much if I had a disagreeable co-worker. I just finished reading a wonderful book titled, “Me Before You” by Jojo Moyes and it dealt with this subject (among other things). The title character of the book began a job that she immediately hated because of a person she had to deal with on a daily basis and she considered quitting.

Take the time to think about how you affect your co-workers.
