National Donut Day, How It Got Started And What Do You Get Today

National Doughnut Day is today, an annual holiday that goes back to 1938. How did the holiday get started and where are the freebies??

This tasty holiday started as a fundraiser to honor the women of the Salvation Army who served doughnuts during WWI.

Dunkin’ Donuts is offering a free doughnut with the purchase of a beverage at participating stores.

Krispy Kreme with free doughnuts at its store at Falls Grove Village Center, 14919 Shady Grove Rd., in Rockville.
