The crowd. 1 word. Energy. The noise at the Yard reached 119 decibels. That is louder than most indoor NBA arenas. The Oriole Nation represented. I tend not to use that description because it’s too close to Red Sox Nation. Not once did I hear ‘Let’s Go Yankees.’ We dominated as a crowd. There were crazy costumes, bare chested fans, and signs everywhere. One sign sign said, ‘Is this heaven? No, hon, it’s Baltimore.’ Love it. The places to be for fun times were the flag court and the Sky Bar. People were all hanging together giving high fives and truly having fun. The reception closer, Jim Johnson, received was a verbal group hug. We told him through cheers that we put Sunday night in the past. You are our superstar closer. Now, go get ’em. The game was a tense, one run game. There was a huge ovation…and sense of relief…when the fireworks shot from the scoreboard at the end of the game signaling victory. People chanted ‘let’s go O’s’ all the way to the parking lots. O’s and Yanks tied at one. Birds, go get ’em in New York!
