The Orioles PR department is doing things perfectly. Last night, at game one of the Divisional Series with the Yankees, The Orioles had Daniel Borowy and teachers throw out the first pitch. Daniel was shot on the first day of school at Perry Hall High. When Daniel and his hero teachers walked to the mound, the excitement and screaming from Orioles fans quickly turned into an ‘oh my gosh’ moment. The crowd got quiet. You could hear people saying things like ‘this is so sweet,’ ‘I am so glad they are here,’ and ‘this is so special.’ And, it was special. There was not one person who didn’t have tears in their eyes or a huge lump in their throat. Injured Orioles, Brian Roberts and Nick Markakis were the catchers of the first pitches (there were two from Daniel and his hero teacher.) It was funny because they both threw to Brian Roberts. He had two balls coming right at him at the same time. He caught Daniel’s and they all caught the hearts 47,000 O’s fans. Well done!
