Gavin DeGraw Says Good-Bye to Dancing With The Stars (page 2)
The Dance Duel is DWTS’ new way for the show to save talented couples from being voted off too early, which has happened in past seasons. In this, the bottom two couples dance at the same time for the judges, hoping to save their spots on the show. But this also means more practice for the dancers as all competitors need to learn a new routine before going into each results episode, just on the chance these show-saving moves help them stay on for one more week.
Pitted against actor Jaleel White and partner Kym Johnson, DeGraw and Smirnoff put their best foot forward as they tackled the Cha Cha in hopes they’d be saved by the judges. But it was a united vote from Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli that White and Johnson were their pick, sending the singer and his partner (last season’s winner) home.
When asked by Brooke Burke Charvet what were the best parts of his Dancing With The Stars experience, Gavin closed out his night saying, “It’s been amazing just being a part of the show. My family got to have a great time, we reunited in a lot of ways, I’ve got family all over the country. This gave us something to talk about. Knowing Karina Smirnoff of course, having a great mentor. And getting to reach out and know all these amazing people who are a part of the show, it’s been awesome.”
Shortly after the show came to an end, he tweeted this message out…
To my friends at DWTS. Love you guys and I had the BEST time!!!! Go get em! Free tickets for you ALL to my shows this summer! Love Gavin

Host Tom Bergeron said something all fans can agree with, “Gavin’s sense of humor and sense of style will be missed” as Season 14 moves ahead with its remaining couples.
