Oprah’s Favorite Baltimore Things

[photogallerylink id=32208 align=left] We had Oprah first, on WJZ TV. I went to see her for a taping of People Are Talking. I was part of the studio audience.  She met us in the lunchroom of WJZ before the show.  I had no change for a soda in the machine, Oprah felt sorry for me and bought me a soda.  Her favorite things in Baltimore are…

Tio Pepe’s she dined there on a regular basis.

The Bead boutique (originally at The Rotunda, now at Kenilworth in Towson) she bought the linen outfits and scarves from The Bead.  One of my favorites too Oprah!!

Louie’s Bookstore Cafe, a hangout in the 80’s..WOW, Oprah I used to go there too!

Cross Keys Deli where the fries were number one with the crab cakes of course.

Paul Harris, a store that used be in the old Golden Ring Mall.  Loved that place too!

Bethel A.M.E. Church where she would give her 10% tithe of her weekly salary every Sunday.  BTW, that was $22.70.  LOL

I attended a taping of People are Talking and one of the topics was Brain Tumors. My mom had just had a brain tumor removed few years before. I stood up to ask a question and the only thing I remember about the whole experience was that we all agreed that Oprah was amazing and that she would be super famous! Every time I see her I think of that!!!
