In the age where the baby-faced [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Justin Bieber[/lastfm] and the super young Taylor Lautner are crushed-on by both the tween set and the middle-aged, we are getting tired of 20-something boys being lusted after like they are grown men.
Nothing can top the sex appeal of some of the world’s most talented, classic rock stars like [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Mick Jagger[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bruce Springsteen[/lastfm], and[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Morrissey[/lastfm]. So, we made a list of the Top Ten Rock Stars Turned Silver Foxes and we enjoyed every minute of it. Oh yes we did.
10.[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Roger Daltrey[/lastfm] from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Who [/lastfm]
Why is Roger Daltrey hotter as an older man? Is it his goofy, boyish smile or his carefully-curated suit and tie ensembles? Whatever it is, it is something that “I Can’t Explain.”
9. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Billy Idol[/lastfm]
I’ve had a crush on Billy Idol since I was a wee thing, even once screaming loudly in public when I saw him ordering a chai latte at a Starbucks. No matter what his age, Billy Idol has me bored with “Dancing With Myself.” I’d rather have the hunky, punky Idol as a dance partner.
8. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Henry Rollins[/lastfm] of[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Black Flag [/lastfm]
Henry Rollins is one of those rare rock ‘n roll creatures that blossomed into a more notable public figure as he got older. You might not remember when Henry Rollins was a young punk rocker in Black Flag and he wasn’t your prototypical hot rock star. But now as an older dude, the hyper-intelligent, square-jawed cutie can makes us “Rise Above” his previous image.
7. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Peter Murphy[/lastfm] of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bauhaus[/lastfm]
The ever mysterious Peter Murphy from Bauhaus fame isn’t exactly a Brad Pitt type, but he’s always always been hauntingly handsome. Murphy’s new-wave goth-rock look was a little overkill in the 1980s, but now the Bauhaus brooder is a dashing older gentleman.
6. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Morrissey[/lastfm] of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Smiths [/lastfm]
Who can deny that The Smiths singer isn’t just a fabulous looking older man? Moz has done his own thing, singing his melancholic English rock dirges, and all that apparent torture has paid off to become a lovely man over fifty. How did he swing it? It must be his “Irish Blood, English Heart.” Or it could be his rampant case of veganism.
5. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]David Bowie[/lastfm]
Embracing his odd alienesque cheekbones and mismatched eyes, David Bowie has always been a musical sex icon. As he’s aged and we’ve seen him strip off the theatrical glitter make-up, we are struck by how refined he really is. Although, we’ll always have a special place in our hearts for “Ziggy Stardust” era Bowie.
4.[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Steven Tyler[/lastfm] of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Aerosmith[/lastfm]
Hilarious, eccentric, newly-minted American Idol judge, Steven Tyler, has always been a lady-killer and he has a plethora of equally-attractive children to prove it. He’s deftly straddled an androgynous line, prompting people to exclaim, “Dude Looks Like A Lady,” but from the way women blush when they see him, Tyler is all man.
3. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bon Jovi[/lastfm]
OK, Jon Bon Jovi is not technically fifty yet, but at forty-nine, he’s flirting with having a half-century under his belt. It’s practically impossible to believe that the still fresh-faced Bon Jovi is almost fifty. We don’t see any evidence of a hard rocking lifestyle, but maybe that because Bon Jovi’s been “Livin’ On A Prayer.”
2. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bruce Springsteen[/lastfm]
When it comes to looking hot and hunky after fifty, the uber-masculine Boss has cornered the market in well-worn good looks. While Springsteen has always been a victim of our feverish fantasy, we’d argue that older Springsteen is “One Step Up” on the scale of hotness.
1.[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Mick Jagger[/lastfm] of the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rolling Stones[/lastfm]
Oh, Mick Jagger. You might not have the best skin or the most muscular frame, but what you do have is an intangible magic that even makes modern day teenage girls get giddy when they see you strut across the stage. You are undoubtedly the hottest rock star on the planet and instead of “Following The River, we’d like to follow every move of your rock ‘n roll beauty regime. That is, if you have one. We sort of doubt it.
