Katy Perry is no lazy chick – she won’t be slacking off during her world tour.
The 26-year-old has previously compared getting fit for the road with training for the Olympics, and admits she’s having to stick to a strict diet to get in shape.
Now Perry – who will spend the majority of 2011 touring her California Dreams live shows – claims the only way to do a good job and give a great performance, is to put all your effort in and not be lazy.
“I’m going to have to be like an athlete, I can really feel it,” says the Firework hitmaker. “This kind of tour is not going to take any slackers.
“There is no lazy in the vocabulary for this tour. I really feel like I’m in training, so of course my diet is going to change, my sleep regimen is going to change to be healthy and make me strong.”
However, Katy’s not 100 percent sure she approves of the modern demands for artists to put on an extravagant show.
She adds: “It is kinda sad because back in the day so many people could just get away with rolling out of bed and being the rock star but those days are so over. Nowadays you have to be like an Olympic athlete. Two months of training for a year long tour all over the world – it’s a big deal.”
